“Nunhead has a lovely village-y feel while still being really close to bustling Peckham and New Cross. We have our own great restaurants, bars and shops close to Nunhead Green. A few favourites: great craft beer micro pub: the Beer Shop, lovely French bistro: Babette; amazing sour dough pizzas: 400 Rabbits.”

“I've lived in Camberwell for just over 10 years and love living here. In zone 2, we are so close to the centre of London but manage to achieve a really lovely community village-type feel. Our neighbours have lived here for generations and really look out for us; the bars are really great and there are some fantastic gastropubs - one of which we were lucky enough to get married in! Our wedding was at Southwark Registry Office at the end of Havil Street and we came back to the flat and had WONDERFUL photos in the green across from our flat and champagne with the neighbours, followed by a fabulous dinner and party at The Bear â on the other side of Camberwell Green towards Oval. Burgess Park has hosted many a birthday party in the summer in the BBQ areas. And friends coming from North London are always amazed and impressed with how lovely the area is and how close to the centre of London we are.”

“I love Peckham Rye because transport links are great. It takes 20 minutes by bus to get into the centre of London and 15 by train. The shops are great for food shopping and the area is bursting with culture.”

Isata Kanneh-mason - Halo
Pianist Isata Kanneh-Mason first entered the Concrete Concert Hall in the depths of the Covid-19 Lockdown in the summer of 2020. We were determined to offer a live programme that year, and these were some of the only performances to take place with an audience in the UK. She dazzled audiences in Peckham in two performances that offered solace and sanctuary in those strange times. Now an international star and multi-award winner including the coveted Leonard Bernstein Award from the Schleswig-Holstein Festival and an Opus Klassik award for best young artist, and with five recorded albums, she returns to Bold Tendencies (where she said she’s given some of her favourite concerts) with a programme specially considered for our euphoria theme.
