Join us for an uplifting evening in support of the new amateur choir competition, UK Choir of the Year. This special fundraising concert, hosted by TV’s Dr Ranj, brings together three brilliant amateur ensembles: Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Choir, Citi London Choir and The Adam Street Singers for a celebration of harmony and community. This spectacular night of classical, musical theatre and pop-choral music also features guest performances by Dr Ranj himself and The Choir With No Name, a choir for people affected by homelessness and marginalisation whose joyful energy and inspirational mission celebrate the transformative power of singing and add something truly unforgettable to the night. It is also an opportunity to hear from the organisers and learn more about the new competition. All proceeds go directly towards funding the UK Choir of the Year competition, helping us provide opportunities, bursaries, and a platform for choirs across the country.

The programme opens with the vibrant Capriccio Italien, which incorporates cheerful street melodies and military bugle calls that Tchaikovsky noted during his stay in Rome. The concert continues with the magnificent and challenging Violin Concerto, showcasing the artistry of the outstanding young violinist Charlotte Spruit. The grand finale is the powerful and dramatic Symphony No. 4, which takes listeners on an emotional journey from despair to a triumphant, exhilarating conclusion. This concert presents a compelling narrative arc through three of the composers most beloved works. Three seating bands are available: Premium, Standard, and Value. About the Soloist Described by Gramophone as an artist whose technique and musicality are matched by a broader artistic imagination, violinist Charlotte Spruit is acclaimed for her passionate and energetic performances. She won First Prize, the Audience Prize and the Genuin Classics Prize at the 2022 Leipzig Bach Competition, was a 2023 YCAT Artist, and was named a Classic FM Rising Star (2024) and Gramophone One to Watch (2025) following her debut album Le Mercure Galant for Linn Records. Highlights of 2025/26 include her recital debut at Berlins Boulez Saal, returning to the Concertgebouw with Angus Webster, and performing Beethovens Violin Concerto with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Charlotte plays an 18th-century Italian violin on loan from the Dutch Musical Instruments Foundation.
