Come and meet Carey Hamblett, the artist behind the new exhibition at the cornerHOUSE Carey is a multi-disciplined practitioner who has worked in TV, theatre, music videos and visual arts. She grew up on the California coast and in the shires of England. Studying at Wimbledon School of Art and the London Film School her journey has included painting, photography, film and artist's residency and exhibition LA Environs' in the US in 2017. Her work conveys her interest in natures ultimate dominion over the built environment, the interaction between earth and ocean and the forces inherent in our weather systems.

What makes theatre so magic and why is Shakespeare still relevant? When an alarm is deliberately set off during their GCSE drama exam, a group of students find themselves in detention. As they struggle to navigate the seemingly endless tasks theyve been set as punishment, questions are raised. Who set off the alarm and why? Will they ever get out of this detention? Will it cost them their GCSE? And why is Shakespeare still so popular? So begins a meta deconstruction of the play as we move from classroom to theatre, artifice to reality. The performers switch between their characters and their real selves as they interrogate Shakespeare, the canon, the education system, the nature of theatre, and the world itself. They begin to wonder whether the classics really are that classic, or whether we might need to tell a different story altogether.... 'Macbeth Macbeth Macbeth' is being performed as part of our Thursday Young Company, Ages 15-18 Weekly Theatre Academy class as part of National Theatre Connections. A great friend of F@cH, it is a real pleasure to welcome back Bob Wood. Hailing from the west of Scotland he is a warm and engaging solo singer and performer with an easy-going sense of humour. He is a highly accomplished finger-style guitarist. Exploring a range of open tunings, his playing and song interpretations have been described as displaying a rare sensitivity, lightness of touch and great technique.

This years cornerHouse panto will beA Midsummer Nights Theme. Yes, our traditional New Year production has finally gone from Bard to verse! With many apologies to William Shakespeare, plus Felix Mendelssohn and a few other creatives whose work is being shamelessly re-imagined, well, plagiarised, the show will recount the tale of mismatched lovers cast adrift in an enchanted forest. There will be fairies, of course, and one unfortunate chap who gets transformed into an ass. But alls well that ends well sorry wrong play and the panto will be staged from January 27th to 31st.
