What locals say about Woolwich Common

“We've lived in Shooters Hill for 11 years and it was the best decision since leaving Docklands for a professional family life. Shooters Hill is the Richmond of London South East. With Oxleas Woods & Meadows, Shooters Hill golf and tennis clubs, Eaglesfield Park, The Woodlands Farm Trust & Severndroog Castle, it's easy to forget your only 10 mins from Canary Wharf and the City of London just beyond. There's a wide choice of schools, lovely family friendly local church and two community pubs. Direct transport (486, 89 & 244 buses) is the only reason prices are still reasonable but if you are prepared to get to Woolwich Dockyard or Arsenal you can get trains into London or the DLR - and with Crossrail round the corner (2 stops to Canary Wharf and 2 more to Liverpool Street) that leg of your commute just got a whole lot better. Shooters Hill - The Country, in the City.”

“I have lived in Shooters hill for the last 10 years. It is a very quiet and pleasant area. I like the woods which is near my house and the big Green attached to it, it's a great place to walk my dog and he loves it! In the snowy winter months the children use sledges to slide down the snowy steep Green. I have lived in this area the longest I have ever lived anywhere and hope to live here many more years.”
