Over 60 members of the Foxtons LGBTQ+ group and allies represented Foxtons at our biggest-ever Pride event on Saturday. An increased presence at Pride allowed us to share our passion for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, as well as celebrate a year of significant expansion for our diversity groups.

For the first time ever, a large contingency of Foxtons team members and their family and friends walked in the Pride parade in 2019. A few people also brought their children, which no doubt helped encourage the celebratory atmosphere that our walkers experienced throughout the parade!

Chris Fowlers-O’Brien, Rare Short Lets Negotiator for Sloane Square, commented on the positive response from other attendees on the day: “I had so much fun! A lot of the people I interacted with were really impressed that Foxtons decided to take part in Pride. I genuinely think we managed to show that we’re a diverse and inclusive company to those we spoke to.”

Team members from across our business were also on hand in our Soho Square stall to start a conversation with anyone interested in a career at Foxtons. 14 different offices were represented on the day, as well as almost all divisions within the company, including head office. The stall in Soho square did a roaring trade, handing out temporary rainbow tattoos, keeping people cool with Foxtons fans, and talking to potential new recruits about starting a career at Foxtons.

A huge amount of people registered their interest in becoming part of 'Team Foxtons'. Our Talent Acquisition department now have a pretty big job on their hands!

Ruth Nouche, Team Leader for Talent Acquisition at our head office, was taking part in Pride for the first time:

“Having never attended London Pride, I was so excited to be a part of the Foxtons stall to support the LGBTQ+ community! It was an incredible experience; London was alive with colour, laughter and all the love.

"I had the best day shared with some awesome people from across the company," she added. "With recruitment on our minds it was amazing to speak to so many people from across London and the UK to talk with them about job opportunities here at Foxtons.”

Tiago Carvalho, Rare Lettings Negotiator for South Kensington and Foxtons LGBTQ+ group chair, is already looking forward to next year's event:

“Seeing the parade from the other side was something that I’ve always wanted to do. We had thousands of people celebrating with us wherever we went. When we walked down Piccadilly Circus all we could see was bright colours and people cheering to us! I can’t wait to do it all over again next year.”

A big thank you to everyone who took part and showed their support for us on the day. Like Tiago, we’re already looking forward to next year, when we expect to do even bigger and better things!
