*This blog article on COVID-19 measures is no longer updated. However, we will keep it available on the Foxtons blog for posterity.*

Helping our customers is extremely important to us. The Government has implemented temporary measures to slow the spread of the Covid-19 Omicron variant. We continue to recommend our customers are cautious and the following information will provide you with clarity around our approach.

Temporary Measures

Put into effect from 30 November, 2021, the Government's temporary measures include compulsory face coverings in shops and on public transport. Regarding self-isolation:

  • All international arrivals must take a Day 2 PCR test and self-isolate until they receive a negative result.
  • All contacts of suspected Omicron cases must self-isolate, regardless of their vaccination status.

Should either of these circumstances affect your appointment, please inform us to reschedule as you will not be able to view properties with us.

Our approach

Customer-facing teams at our HQ work in a COVID-secure way and estate agency offices are open to provide support for our 40,000+ tenants, as well as ensuring customers can still move when needed, our precautions continue to include:

  • Compulsory face coverings for customers and staff in all customer-facing areas of our offices (unless you are exempt)
  • Compulsory safety training for all staff members with ongoing enforcement of these safety measures
  • One-way systems throughout our office headquarters
  • Plexiglass dividers in estate agency offices where appropriate
  • Enhanced cleaning measures of all areas, surfaces, and property keys

All in-office safety precautions have been endorsed by third parties and our offices are certified as being within COVID-19 safety guidelines.

Visitors can enter our estate agency offices without an appointment as long as there is space to socially distance within the office’s reception area, although you are required to wear a face covering unless you are exempt. We also recommend all parties wear gloves and follow social distancing guidelines.

We are also offering a variety of options for our customers during viewings and valuations, including the option of virtual viewings. We request you to fill out a questionnaire prior to the appointment and ask that you wear a face covering during the event. Whilst we can reassure customers that any in-person appointments will be carried out with the utmost concern for the safety of all involved, we appreciate that customers may prefer to use our services remotely.

Guidelines for in-person appointments

In order to ensure the safety of our customers and teams, we require all customers to confirm that they can comply with our appointment guidelines. You will be required to fill a pre-appointment questionnaire to that effect. If these guidelines are not adhered to unfortunately we will be unable to carry out these appointments.
