Crossrail has become a hot topic of conversation in central London since work began on upgrading the stations along its route, including both Tottenham Court Road and Bond Street. Not only providing improved services for commuters, Crossrail's development is having an extraordinary impact on the buy-to-let market, as investors anticipate an increased rental demand and therefore, an increase in prices once construction is completed. With so much buzz surrounding schemes of this size and nature, it comes as no surprise that developers in central parts of the capital are investing heavily in buildings such as Fitzroy Place, which is a mixed-used development incorporating luxury apartments, offices and a restaurant, Percy & Founders. In areas such as Marylebone, we find that newly built contemporary developments of this type are complemented by the renovation of existing buildings like The Old Marylebone Town Hall, which is being refurbished by London Business School in order to expand and improve their facilities.
Although areas like Chelsea and Knightsbridge remain the most sought-after parts of prime central London in which to own property, in recent years there has been a shift in the number of buyers opting to live in alternative central neighbourhoods. Marylebone has become one of these locales, as buyers and investors are discovering that they get more property for their money, with the same close proximity to luxury retailers and food outlets as they could have in Belgravia or Kensington. And with so much development happening in the area, it's no surprise that people are drawn here. Celebrity hotspot Chiltern Firehouse has certainly raised the profile of Chiltern Street in the last few years, but it is the continual regeneration of the road and the construction of residential developments like The Chilterns that ensures Marylebone's long and prosperous future.

Before using Foxtons, we tried various agencies to find a suitable property, however none truly understood our requirements until we met Nadia from Foxtons and she took us out for an afternoon of viewings. She enthusiastically showed us about 6-7 properties fast and efficiently, each one in an excellent Mayfair location and all potential rentals for my partner and I! Tom recently helped me find a short-term let in Central London in a manner that was extremely effective, pleasant and professional. From the start, he understood my needs and expectations well and excellently matched these up with potential properties, ultimately finding me a flat that I am very happy with. Even when confronted with obstacles (i.e. no keys, struck in traffic) and despite the search taking several days, he remained highly attentive and courteous throughout the entire process. He is definitely someone I would recommend to my colleagues and friends in the future.
Petras has been extremely helpful in providing us with guidance in selecting our property. He constantly tries to find properties within our criteria and it is regrettable that we ended up settling with another agent because another property matched our criteria. Nevertheless, he is very approachable and gave great advice on what considerations we should take into account when looking for a property to rent.

Alex has been a real friend to me over the past few years.
