A month after Midsummer and already we can feel the evenings slowly beginning to draw in. If you are someone who dreads the reduction in light over the winter, perhaps a HUF HAUS is the solution, where you can really make the most of natural light throughout the year.

Over the last decade the HUF HAUS has gone from strength to strength and the owners of this property cannot recommend them highly enough. Although there have been over 200 built in the UK they surprisingly remain a rarity due to a low production levels of approximately 150 a year, worldwide.

The combination of timber and glass creates elegant, clean lines that originate from the famous Bauhaus architectural tradition and brings the surrounding nature into the living experience. The nine metre high atrium accentuates this, so if you're worried it might be a bit chilly in winter, don't be. With the benefit of triple glazing there is no chance of the cold creeping in, whatever the weather. In addition, the interior design is entirely bespoke making this property an even more unique purchase.

It was all part of the owners dream, to create a close of modern houses of architectural interest and in the last 14 years this dream has come to fruition. Foxtons have sold both the semi-detached HUF houses on this road in Ullswater Close, Kingston Vale. In fact we have even sold one of them twice over the years! There is also a Swedish design house on the close, which was previously sold by Foxtons for the same client, who has two more detached HUF houses on this same road, one of which we are selling on his behalf and the other which he is keeping.

The HUF houses are modelled on Japanese Beam architectural design which ties in with their naming of the current one, which is called Heiwa. Due to this Japanese name they have put a Shinto at the front of the house which represents peace, so when you walk through the gate there is physical representation of the attitude of mind in front of you, a gentle reminder if you like, of the peace ideology. In addition they have placed Reiki symbols as a form of healing energy which are carved into the base of the house below where they have a healing room.
