Great British Bakery Conversions

We have been inspired by this year’s Great British Bake Off to explore some baking related homes currently on the market. We’ve taken a look at some of our current wonderful bakery conversions, and we think you’ll agree they are a little slice of property heaven.

There is something gloriously unique about living in a factory conversion; the building will most likely have a unique history, and developments like these are traditionally situated in large industrial areas, many of which have seen considerable regeneration in recent years. In London, it’s also common to find fabulous warehouse conversions in waterside locations due to the logistics of transporting goods when these buildings were used for their original purpose. Conversions remain a popular choice with buyers and renters as they often benefit from a stunning combination of modern architecture and design, whilst preserving and maintaining original features.

The Old Bakery, Brixton, SW2

£3,250,000 | 4 bedroom apartment

This spectacular bakery warehouse conversion in Brixton still maintains some of the original features such as beautiful wooden beams, cast iron radiators and goods lift. The apartment offers a blend of industrial chic and period charm, and benefits from four bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a fabulous roof terrace.

The icing on the cake is the incredible wealth of entertaining and living space within the property, which offers state of the art fixtures and fittings.

Bakehouse, Clapham Junction, SW11

£1,300,000 | 2 bedroom apartment

Set in a converted Victorian bakery, in the appropriately named Bakehouse in Bakery Place, is this large two bedroom apartment. This totally unique space offers incredible accommodation and living, whilst outside still retains original features with a beautiful cobbled courtyard.

The property is open plan, and benefits from modern design and features including a fabulous eat-in kitchen, parquet flooring, large double bedrooms with fitted wardrobes and a study area - sounds like a batch made in heaven to us.

The Bagel Factory, Hackney Wick, E9

£460,000 | 1 bedroom apartment

Last but by no means yeast, this gorgeous one bedroom flat set in Hackney Wick is situated in a modern development which was built on the former famous Bagel Factory site. The development celebrates Hackney’s industrial heritage with features which reflect this such as exposed raw brick walls.

The apartment also has access to a secret winter garden and a communal roof terrace, with fabulous views of the London skyline, and benefits from a modern open plan kitchen, and spacious reception room.

If it is something unique you are looking for, we have hundreds of properties and plenty of unique conversions in a variety of stunning buildings across London and the home counties, click here to start your search today.
