We're still buzzing with excitement from the Career Ready Annual Awards on Wednesday. It was an inspirational look at the talent and achievements of young people across the UK in 2021.
A few weeks ago, we had a Foxtons representative on the jury for Career Ready’s Student of the Year Award nominations. He said, “The criteria for this award is the most transformational student journeys in 2021, and the hard work and ingenuity these young people have shown is absolutely impressive.”
A number of us participated in mentorships and internships for Career Ready this past year too, so we were eager to go see the Career Ready Awards. A group with last year’s mentors and supervisors from Foxtons attended the ceremony on 27 April, held at the extraordinary Drapers' Hall.
Foxtons sponsored the Student of the Year award. This award recognises “students across the UK who have shown the utmost commitment to the programme and who have progressed the most in becoming Career Ready” (Career Ready awards page).
Nic Budden, Foxtons CEO, presented the Student of the Year Award. Along with his congratulations, he said, “Your enthusiasm to extract the maximum benefit from this opportunity has led you to achievements that are today being recognised as some of the greatest in the UK from the Career Ready process.” Nic went on to say, “Our partnership with Career Ready is now one year old and within that year we’re delighted to have welcomed interns, mentors and students on Masterclasses into Foxtons…We hope in future that more student will now consider estate agency, especially Foxtons, as a career path.”
