Have a wander around the centre of Kingston-upon-Thames, and you’ll notice a family of chimps hanging around.

We noticed this chimp foraging around another Kingston icon, the 'Out of Order' phone boxes.

A delightful exhibition, Chimps are Family, by artists Gillie and Marc in collaboration with Kingston First, has swung into Kingston. It includes 10 statues, as well as plaques and QR codes with further information on their behaviour and conservation. If you’re following the monkeys trailing through the town centre, you’ll want to stop into Foxtons Kingston Office. On our community art wall, which features collections from local artists, we’re currently showcasing two curious creatures from Gillie and Marc’s collection.

Come see these gorgeous chimps in our Kingston office.

This wildly successful exhibition, based on real chimps that Gillie and Marc have studied, works so well with Kingston’s style. There are always artists displaying their work and performers crooning to the crowd. Walk through the town centre on a sunny afternoon, and you’ll see the hustle and bustle open up, like it does for any great performer, to reveal the cheeky chimps. Budge in among the families posing for pictures and read how similar chimps are to humans in their range of emotions, their complex personalities and the strength of their bonds. It’s well worth the visit and read.
