If you want the London views without the hustle and bustle of the city, Greenwich is perfect. It’s rich in history and boasts incredible walks along the river Thames. Greenwich is also home to a plethora of restaurants, pubs and bars that will make you fall head over heels for the area. Read this guest article by our friends at DesignMyNight to see what exciting things you can do around here, whether you’re looking for cosy pub vibes, a vibrant beer garden or dinner 100ft in the air.

The Sail Loft

Situated alongside the River Thames, The Sail Loft provides exceptional views of the city skyline. Saunter on to the gorgeous terrace (with a glass of wine, of course) or drink in the panoramic views in the private dining rooom. It’s also close to one of Britain’s national treasures, the Cutty Sark ship - for those fancying a bit of history. Choose to drink or dine whilst on a date or with friends at this dreamy spot, all whilst taking in the London backdrop.

Davy's Wine Vaults

If you’ve got friends or family coming to visit for the weekend, then Davy’s Wine Vaults is an absolute must. Not only is it close to both Greenwich DLR and British rail (handy for those travelling to you) but it’s got a tremendous amount of wine. Select a lovely British dish off of their menu and choose either to drink by the glass or bottle if you’re extra thirsty. There’s even a wine store next door if you fancy taking a bottle home.

TOCA Social

If you’re a football lover, then this place is a must. TOCA Social is the perfect place to grab a pint and play some digital football games. Situated in The O2 Greenwich, the theme really does fit the venue. You can also grab some food from their American-styled menu (think mouth-watering burgers, sandwiches and mac & cheese) to go along with your epic experience. They even have a Willy Wonka inspired dessert room - now that really is the icing on the cake.

The Old Brewery

If you’re wanting a place that’s both rich in history and scenery, then you must try The Old Brewery. Standing a stone's throw away from the Cutty Sark and situated on the ground of an Old Royal Naval College, this pub really is a venue to boast about. You can’t go wrong with having a tasty brunch or dinner whilst sitting on the idyllic outdoor terrace. Choose from an array of seasonal British food whilst sipping on a London brewed craft ale.

The Gun

Another historic gem that boasts outstanding river views is The Gun. Not only is this place the perfect location for lunch and a bottle of wine, it’s also the home of one of Lord Nelson’s secret lovers (sorry, the secret's out now, Nelson). Get comfortable in the pub’s snug area or sit in the beer garden on a warm summer's day to admire the views. You can even watch the sunset over the O2 if you arrive at the right time.

Oystercatcher

As we know, Greenwich is not short of incredible views. The Oystercatcher is certainly no exception. Wine and dine in their gorgeous, airy venue or step onto the outdoor patio to breathe in the fresh London air after a hard day’s graft. Get stuck into a delicious dry-aged steak and a cocktail, or if you’re looking to get a bit boozy, you can do their bottomless brunch on the weekend.

The Cutty Sark

Like the ship of the same name, The Cutty Sark pub is highly regarded amongst locals and tourists alike. The 200-year-old pub is sat on the bank of the Thames, with three floors that offer views of the river and Canary Wharf. You can indulge in some gorgeous pub grub whilst sipping on one of the many beers and cocktails on offer. Don’t be surprised when this place becomes a firm favourite when living in Greenwich.

We know heights aren't for everyone, but do you think you could be enticed if amazing food and drinks were thrown into the mix? If so, then London in the Sky will be an experience you will never forget. Choose to have either your breakfast, brunch or dinner at 100ft with friends or family. You can even hire out the experience for special occasions when you want to go big. If you want food, booze and views, then this is for you.

The Gipsy Moth

Situated just yards away from the famous Cutty Sark, The Gispy Moth is the perfect location for those wishing to drink and dine in a relaxed environment. Their menu is full of the best pub grub and even features an award-winning pie. You can choose to admire the views of the Cutty Sark in the beer garden or get cosy inside when colder weather makes you unbox your hats and gloves. They even put on live music on certain nights of the week for the whole pub to enjoy.
