In the true spirit of Christmas, there were some seriously questionable festive ensembles in our offices throughout the capital on Friday 2nd December.
Employees embraced their best yuletide yarns for our very own annual Christmas Jumper Day to help raise much-needed funds for our charity partners, London’s Air Ambulance and Veterans Aid. Each branch, including our Chiswick-based head office, made a donation to wear their all glittering, all sparkling – or charmingly terrible – festive sweaters and we are delighted to announce that in total we have raised over £3,500, with donations still coming in.
This year we plan to do something a little bit different with the money raised, splitting the amount collected between our two charity partners, London’s Air Ambulance and Veterans Aid. One half of the donations will contribute towards running London’s Air Ambulance’s two helicopters, which have estimated running costs of £8 million. Another half will ensure that Veterans Aid’s ex-servicemen enjoy a festive Christmas dinner with gifts, which will follow our city-wide campaign to raise awareness of the charity, which you can now see across Foxtons offices. Veterans Aid is the UK's frontline operational charity, delivering immediate support to ex-servicemen and women in crisis. The charity was established in 1932 and has been providing practical help to veterans ever since, supporting them throughout their transition to well-being.
CEO of Veterans Aid, Dr Hugh Milory said, “We are delighted to have the support of Foxtons during the Christmas period. Albeit in a very different way, we are both committed to finding suitable homes for people and veterans have the same needs as everyone else. What pleases me most however is the fact this is not a seasonal ‘one off’. It is the evolution of a relationship that has already seen the agency commit to finding employment that is so vital to sustaining independent lifestyles and that is something all Londoners can relate to.”
